Lydford Castle

The small town of Lydford, located on the north-western edge of the ancient Dartmoor National Park in Devon, is home to an array of interesting historical sites that are incredibly interesting to visit.   It was a cold, misty February morning in 2017 when my friend and I decided to visit Lydford castle. We had travelled down from London a few days earlier to enjoy the scenery and see more of the country. Being from the capital, it wasn’t very often that we were able to get out into the countryside, so we were exceptionally excited about it. As we approached our hotel in Okehampton, we passed through a wooded area. A fog had descended throughout the forest and the scene that lay before us was very reminiscent of Silent Hill. However, the area was calm, quiet, incredibly pleasant and, unsurprisingly, zombie-free.   1.
